Lectora Inspire Power Tools

Ms. Leslie Fisher LMS Admin./Staff Development

Kansas Dept. of Transportation

Session Objectives:

  1. Describe the different tools I covered in the training and how each is used
  2. Identify which of the Lectora tools they would feel most comfortable using and how
  3. Develop a course using at least 2 of the tool techniques covered in this training

I will demonstrate using several of the Lectora Inspire Tools. This will include the eLearning Brothers templates, Snagit, and Camtasia. Participants will learn how to get full use of all the tools Inspire provides to create engaging and interactive content.

I will use one of the eLearning Brothers templates to demonstrate the features of one their branching content pages, including using the properties pane to look at actions and variables that were used to accomplish the branching. I will also show how to add the cutout people to your Lectora course and how to customize an existing interaction from the template.

I will use Snagit to capture and edit images:

  • Editing images to blur or erase parts
  • Capturing screens and indicating a series of steps
  • Using screen captures and Lectora actions to mimic a simulation exercise
  • And creating hotspots to provide more interactive details about the different parts of an image.

Finally, I will show how I used Camtasia to capture a series of steps in a process or an entire video that I have edited for my own use. I will also share other tools that work well with Lectora.
