Directly connecting to the Saba Repository

Saba Inspire connects to the Saba Repository through an HTTP connection (that is, a Web connection). You can specify a Web URL to a machine that is running Saba and directly connect to the repository.

To directly connect to the Saba repository:

  1. On the File ribbon, click Preferences.

    The Preferences window opens.

  2. Click the Saba Repository side-tab.

  3. In the URL to connect to Saba Content Repository – Core Services field, type the URL in the following format:

    http://<machine_name>/axis/services/

    where <machine_name> is the name of the Saba application server.

    If you do not know the machine name of your Saba application server, contact your Saba system administrator.

  4. To change the duration of the Saba session that is created each time you log on to the Saba repository server, update the value in the Session timeout (in minutes) field. Once the session expires, you will be prompted to log on again to the Saba repository server for any further interactions.

  5. To have the option to save or browse the Knowledge Base repository, select the Allow publishing directly to Knowledge Base check box. Otherwise, the Knowledge Base repository is not displayed.

  6. .To have the option to save or browse the Knowledge Base repository, select the Allow publishing directly to Production Repositorycheck box. Otherwise, the Production Repository is not displayed.

  7. Click OK to save the settings.
