CourseMill is a Web-based learning management system that streamlines the way you manage your courses. All online work is done through a browser. The browser can be launched from a PC, a tablet, or a smartphone. You can access courses and monitor courses anywhere there is access to the Web.
The CourseMill student interface is tab-based. The side-tabs logically subdivide the tasks you will complete to manage your courses:
DASHBOARD |
Returns you to the student dashboard. The dashboard provides a portal-like view of your student instance. Use the links provided to view and launch courses, view your progress at a glance, check your schedule in the calendar, monitor discussions in the community, browse the course catalog, access resources, see the news, and check your email. You can customize the appearance of your dashboard, like disabling unnecessary panels or resizing panels to display more information. For details, see Managing your dashboard. |
MY COURSES | Displays all the courses and curriculums in which you are currently enrolled. |
COURSE CATALOG | View the curriculums and courses available to you in which to enroll. This option might be hidden by your administrator. |
CALENDAR | Check your schedule. This view is an optional setting that provides a monthly view of your courses. The due dates or expiration dates of online courses are displayed. For instructor-led courses, the days the class is meeting are also displayed. The location for each course is also provided, along with links for getting more information about each course. Courses that are due or overdue for certification are noted. This option might be hidden by your administrator. |
Available when CourseMill's internal Email messaging is enabled, use this link to manage your email messages. This option might be hidden by your administrator. | |
NEWS | Stay informed about company news, scheduled maintenance, and other important announcements concerning your CourseMill experience. This option might be hidden by your administrator. |
TRANSCRIPT | Monitor your results and view your curriculum and course progress. See your entire learning program in one report. You can also view and print the certificates you have received. |
COMMUNITY | Communicate with colleagues by responding to topics in discussion boards or chat sessions. Conversations are grouped into topics containing the main topic and all related replies. This option might be hidden by your administrator. |
RESOURCES | Organizations can include supplemental resources. You can re-sort the list and download the resources. |
HELP | View Help topics based on the tasks involved in managing your course work, such as browsing the Course Catalog for new courses and curriculums, completing courses in which you are enrolled, checking your schedule, and communicating with your colleagues. |
If your organization offers courses in which to self-enroll, open the COURSE CATALOG to view curriculum and course details. You can search for courses using the Search box on the COURSE CATALOG window. Courses can be searched by catalog ID, title, description, or tag. Buttons are available to view details and enroll.
The MY COURSES side-tab displays the curriculums and courses in which you are enrolled. Your progress is displayed, along with your enrollment date and the course expiration date. Prerequisites are also listed, if applicable. Click a course to display the course content associated with the course. Courses in grey italics are expired.
From the MY COURSES side-tab, you can also launch course content, view organization-wide documents, and display your transcript.
Stay in the loop with the optional NEWS side-tab. This side-tab displays important news and updates that your administrator wants to share with you.
