Translation is a huge factor in localizing content, but it’s not the only thing you need to do. Don’t forget to:
- Localize spelling, even if it’s the same language—for example, color versus colour
- Adapt graphics to your target market
- Modify content to suit the tastes and consumption habits—for example, switching to mobile delivery for a particular market
- Adapt design and layout to fit translated text—not all text reads left to right!
- Convert to local currencies and units of measure
- Use proper local formats for dates, addresses and phone numbers
- Address local regulations and legal requirements
