2014 Lectora User Conference Sessions Sneak Peek!

The 2014 Lectora® User Conference, held this Spring from April 1 – April 3, is packed with fantastic sessions on topics ranging from Lectora e-Learning development to working with CourseMill LMS. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the great sessions focusing on using the amazing tools included with Lectora Inspire!

Creating a Video-Based e-Learning Course in Lectora
Presenter: Andra Serzans, Pfizer, Inc.

Learn how a Training Team at Pfizer’s Andover, Massachusetts, site used Lectora to create their very own TV station… AND deliver mandatory training to over 800 employees! Searching for a fresh and innovative solution to yearly training, the team harnessed the power of Lectora and Camtasia to easily create a virtual TV station that hosted short instructive “TV shows” on a training theme. A real-world user interface, including a TV screen and a remote, was developed to play and navigate the content. Video footage was edited with Camtasia to create video clips that spoofed popular TV shows to deliver the training content. Creative instructional design, coupled with the technical capabilities of Lectora and Camtasia, resulted in an increase in both employee training completion as well as engagement.

Presenting with Pizazz: Using Mind Mapping, Storyboarding and Inspire Tools to Develop Quality e-Learning Quickly
Presenter: Karin Ewing, Cincinnati Bell

Learn how to quickly and easily create fun, attractive and educational courses, using the extra tools that come with Lectora Inspire. By gathering information about the client and the topic, you can take your courses up a notch, without having to be fluent in Flash, HTML or photo editing. Everything you need to quickly produce fantastic results is included with Camtasia, Flypaper and Snagit!

Story-Bored to Story-Floored: Using Camtasia and Actions
Presenter: Sara Faas, Nationwide Insurance

Learn how to take a traditional static storyboard and turn it into interactive, energetic and memorable training with Lectora actions and Camtasia. Sara Faas will present this session in a blended case study/how-to format, using a real-life example of work recently produced at Nationwide Insurance and following it from inception as a storyboard to distribution as an online learning lesson. You’ll see how screenshots became an interactive desktop video with the help of Camtasia, as well as how actions were used to create energy with static images.

Creating a Software Simulation Using Lectora and Snagit
Presenters: Cody Carlton & Brenda Calhoun, Branagh Information Group

Hear your presenters share the knowledge they gained creating a software simulation for new client training using only Lectora and Snagit. Up until now, Branagh Information Group’s clients have been trained using a training version of their data system. With Lectora V11, the company has eliminated the training version and created a simulated environment for its clients. This session will focus on the issues leading up to this decision and the process of creating the simulation, as well as lessons learned along the way.
