Lectora 2005 Breaks New Ground for Multimedia Authoring Tools

With more than 50 new features, Trivantis launches most substantial release to date

Expanding on the programming-free authoring and publishing technology which has made Lectora the preferred eLearning authoring tool, Trivantis has added more than 50 new features that provide content developers with advanced ease of use and unmatched flexibility.

The major new features in Lectora 2005 include:

Learning Object Library

Conveniently store and share objects by adding them to the Learning Object Library. This feature provides efficiency and ease of use by allowing the object to be easily accessed and shared in collaborative authoring environments.

Real Media Native Support

Lectora now plays RealPlayer® media content natively, providing seamless compatibility between Lectora and Real® media.

Equation Editor

Easily create and edit mathematical formulas and equations using the built-in equation editor.

Advanced Text Features

Easily add flair to content with the new option to insert images, animation, or equations inside text blocks. This feature offers complete control of the layout and appearance of content.

Advanced Art and Design Features

Lectora takes creativity and practical content design to new heights with the new Shapes and Lines Designer and Border and Margin Creator. Users can create an array of shapes and lines, including arrows, circles, squares, triangles, trapezoids, parallelograms, and more. Authors can also make text stand out by creating text boxes with margins and borders that include advanced options such as 3D cutout and 3D ridge border with the ability to choose margin width, border width, and color.

Extensive File Support

Lectora now adds PNG file support to the extensive array of media types already supported - such as TIF, GIF, JPG, BMP, and IPIX 3-D image formats; WAV, MIDI, MP3, AIFF, WMF, and streaming audio by Microsoft® or Real® Audio files; AVI, MOV, MPG, Flash animations, streaming video by Microsoft® or Real® Video files; as well as ASP, JSP, and PHP scripting.

Lectora 2005 provides many other new features that increase production speed, promote creativity, and enable authors to further customize their content. Lectora is ideal for rapid e-Learning development as well as multiple platform multimedia publishing.
