Learn How to Develop 508-Compliant Courses Using Lectora
This class will take a step-by-step look at all of the requirements for accessible Web content, as outlined in the Section 508 standards, Paragraph 1194.22 (a) through (p). This class is intended for Lectora users who are required to create content that adheres to the standards set forth in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
What You'll Learn
In this course, trainees will learn how to create 508-Compliant Web content which includes the following:
- Using ALT tags efficiently throughout a title
- Techniques for adding textual descriptions for non-textual objects
- Tabbing order within Lectora
- Creating synchronized captioning for audio and video using the audio/video editors
- Creating accessible image maps
- Creating and properly labeling data tables
- Designing accessible forms and using form elements properly
- Enabling users to skip repetitive navigation
- Adding keyboard functionality to a title
- Using JAWS to test page functionality
- Using Lectora’s 508 checker to determine non-compliance
This class begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. Computers are provided for a hands-on learning experience. A course manual and CD containing the course content is given to all trainees. This course is taught with Lectora Professional Publishing Suite 2008 and the Audio/Video Editor.
Training Prerequisites
Attendees should have attended the
Fundamentals and
Intermediate training or have equivalent experience.
