e-Learning Lesson in Lectora: Make Media More Interactive

Make Media More Interactive: e-Learning Lesson in Lectora

One of the benefits of e-Learning versus traditional classroom training is the ability to add exciting, interactive elements to courses. Today’s e-Learning Lesson in Lectora® shows you yet another great way to wow learners as they navigate through your training: adding synchronized events to media files. In this session, expert Lectora Trainer Jamie Hale instructs step-by-step how to take ordinary audio and video to the next level by incorporating questions, text blocks, animations and more into recordings. Adding events to media files using Lectora e-Learning software is not only fun - it increases interactivity for learners and holds their attention throughout your entire course.

Before you get started, here are a couple tips to consider when adding synchronized events to audio and video:

1) File Format: When creating events in Lectora, it is important to take media file format into consideration. For a seamless experience, make sure all audio recordings are in .wma format and that all video recordings are in .wmv or .flv format before you start adding elements.

2) Plan Ahead: Pre-plan or storyboard events before you begin working in Lectora. For example, if you want to add elements to a video recording, watch the video multiple times and note which elements you want to use and when they will take place. Staying organized will save you time and energy when you begin the development process.

Add Professional Title Graphics to Camtasia

Posted by Joanna VonLuehrte on Tuesday, January 31, 2012
Camtasia - Add Professional Title Graphics

When creating and editing videos using Camtasia® screen recording software, there are plenty of easy ways to add pizzazz and visual appeal to your projects: using zoom and pan, inserting transitions, adding images, etc. To make your Camtasia videos within Lectora® Inspire e-Learning software stand out even more, you can also add introductions to projects by inserting title graphics at the beginning of videos.

In this podcast by Diane Elkins of Artisan E-Learning and E-Learning Uncovered, you’ll learn step-by-step how to add professional, aesthetically pleasing title graphics to your Camtasia projects. Using the Camtasia Library tab, Elkins instructs how to combine the following elements to tailor the perfect video introduction:

  • Audio, such as background music
  • Sound effects
  • Visual elements
  • Media Assets: Ready-to-go combinations of music, effects and visual elements

Once you’ve added snazzy title graphics to your Camtasia videos, you’ll be all set to insert them in your Lectora e-Learning Titles – a great way to add interactivity to training and grab learners’ attention.
