Initial customer feedback on the 2007 version of Lectora has been highly positive. With 50 new features, the reasons for the positive responses vary widely with practically every person discovering a set of personal favorites.
“The whole new Lectora look and feel is phenomenal,” says Lee Griffin, the Senior eLearning Specialist with P & H Mining Equipment, Inc., who has used Lectora since 2004. “The time-saving features such as instantly changing text styles or page layouts have already made a difference in creating courses on safety for mining shovels. Within Lectora 2007, we’ve also found great value in the wrap around text blocks and the Flash Command Action by making it easier for us to control our videos. As simple as those things sound, it makes a tremendous difference in our content building on a day-to-day basis.”
For Dr. Jeffry Gordon, Professor at Educational Informatics at Vanderbilt, the two favorites are Lectora’s survey tool enhancements and the new progress bar. “We create surveys for health organizations around the world, and we’ve already discovered that the enhanced survey tool with the new Likert and Ordinal surveys gives us options on questionnaires, plus the progress bar is being used to show people exactly where they are in the surveys. We’ve found new features in Lectora that we've liked every year since 2000, so I’m sure we’ll find more favorites as we become more familiar with the latest edition.”
If you haven’t yet decided to upgrade to Lectora 2007, we invite you to download a complete list of new features from the Trivantis website as well as a free trial version of Lectora.
If you have any questions about Lectora 2007, please call your account representative at 877.929.0188.
Moving Objects in a Group
A new feature of Lectora 2007 allows users to move a single object within a group. To move the single object, hold the ALT key while dragging the object with your mouse to its new position. Otherwise, moving a single object in the group will result in all objects moving in the group.
Right-Click Menu Shortcut Key
The right-click menu for any object can be displayed by selecting the object and pressing Shift+F10.
Pasting Unformatted Text
Pasting text from the clipboard without using the formatting (associated with the text) can be completed through the right-click menu (select "Paste Unformatted Text") or by pressing Ctrl+Shift+V. This will bring the text into the title and apply the default text style selected.
Creating Review Questions and Processing Them Outside of a Test
When creating a review question outside of a test, build a button with the On Click action set to Process Question. This will mark the question as correct or incorrect and display the feedback for that question, if there is any defined.

Understanding Media File Types: GIFs, JPEGs, MP3s and More!
With so many digital file media types at your fingertips, it’s no wonder that many trainers and instructional designers are confused when creating digital content. Jenny will clear the confusion and focus on the 20 most commonly used media file types and explain the attributes, shortcomings and benefits of each.
Create Multimedia Rich Content Fast!
In this course, Jenny will start with a basic, partially built course (in Lectora) and introduce the use of variables and conditional statements to take elearning to the next level. You’ll learn how to use Lectora’s action palette, create student interactivity through branching scenarios based on student input and incorporate learning techniques in which students learn while having fun.
