Form Alignment
Trivantis recommend right-aligning text that is placed to the left of any form object such as a radio button, entry field, checkbox, etc. By right-aligning the text, it will keep you from accidentally layering the transparent portion of the text block over the form object.
Printing Certificates of Completion
When creating a graded test, set the "When/Completed Passed" tab to go to a Pass page. On the Pass page, place a button that says, “View or Print Certificate of Completion”. If this button is clicked, then pop-up a Certificate of Completion page and place an action on the page level set to: On Show, Print Current Page. Once the student prints the Certificate, all they have to do is close the window and move on.
Text tips
When you copy text and paste it on a Lectora page you will see the plus sign on the lower-right corner of the text block. This means you have to increase the size of the text block so all of the text is seen. To quickly increase the size of a text block simply double-click in it.
In Enterprise Learning 2006, Bersin & Associates reported that in 2005 elearning matured in the US. “Although technology continues to play an increasing role in corporate learning and development, it is no longer a focus in itself. In fact, the elearning market has become so big and broad that we no longer see it as a market in itself – it is now a tool being used for a wide variety of training and informational applications,” reported Bersin & Associates.
Lakota then investigated several authoring tools such as Lectora by Trivantis and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Lakota noticed, however, that the learning curve for Dreamweaver was extremely high and maintenance and training would make the creation of content long and tedious. Laws found, however, that Lectora provided the perfect blend between ease of use and expandability. "Lectora's drag-and-drop technology makes content development faster and more efficient than any other authoring tool we came across," said Laws. "As a complete elearning solution, Lectora and CourseMill enable us to save costs on training by rapidly creating and hosting online content without the need for full-time staff members. As Lakota Local School District expands, both Lectora and CourseMill can grow with us."

With the use of AJAX, organizations previously “cut off” from elearning due to security concerns and tight policies can now offer online training. "Restrictive computer policies and Java issues can create problems for all types of companies, but Lectora 2006 can help overcome these major obstacles," said Hughes. "To me, this just illustrates the forward thinking of Trivantis!"

Gary Hughes, president of Lakeside Media Design in the Minneapolis area, works with a large local hospital on their online training courses. HIPAA regulations often require “thick” firewalls in hospitals, which pose problems for elearning courses that use JavaScript. More importantly, however, many large companies today have very restrictive computer policies in place regarding the types of programs that can be loaded on an employee's computer. This was exactly the case for Hughes. The hospital Hughes works with has policies that do not allow the use of several programs on its computers, such as Java, Flash, and audio. This meant that courses that require a Java applet would be inaccessible by hospital personnel. In addition, the hospital's LMS needed to record when a course was completed, but this data could not pass accurately to the LMS due to the Java issues. The hospital's IT department and Hughes spent months trying to resolve these major problems caused by the use of Java in the online courses. Once Hughes received his copy of Lectora 2006, he immediately published the hospital's courses using the AJAX option with the JavaScript Title Manager in Lectora. "Instantly, the courses were up and running smoothly without any technical issues," said Hughes. "With the Java free functionality in Lectora 2006, the hospital's online courses can now be accessed on the hospital computers."
