    Default Lectura adding/changing URL????

When I'm in Publish Mode, and click a link, it works fine. When I publish to HTML or WebCt, the URL is changed...

The link, as it appears in the OnMClkGoTo action, is:
    upk.erp.ufl.edu/classroom/Payroll%20Distributions/Publishing%20Content/PlayerPackage/tpc/fba37bca-79b0-44a9-9c04-e4ffc436489b/topic.html?mode=T

    When published it is: upk.erp.ufl.edu/classroom/Payroll%25
    20Distributions/Publishing%25
    20Content/PlayerPackage/tpc/fba37bca-79b0-44a9-9c04-e4ffc436489b/topic.html%3F
    mode%3DT

    It has:
    • added text 25
    • replace “?” with %3F
    • replaced “=” with %3D

I added the color to highlight the problem above... Here are the links:

    Good link:
    http://upk.erp.ufl.edu/classroom/Pay...ic.html?mode=T

    Bad link:
    http://upk.erp.ufl.edu/classroom/Pay...tml%3Fmode%3DT

Yikes, I’ve never seen this. Have any ideas about why this might be happening? Thanks, Karen

Put the original link in Notepad. Replace each %20 with one blank space. Then use that. You run into this problem when people put blank spaces in folder names and file names on the web. A better naming convention is to use either - or _.

    Lectura is still:

    • replacing “?” with %3F
    • replacing “=” with %3D

    Karen,

Lectora URL encodes all those special characters. I believe that you will have to go to the published output, find the page(s) of interest, and paste the correct URL.

I just tried it and it worked fine. I took your original link
    upk.erp.ufl.edu/classroom/Payroll%20Distributions/Publishing%20Content/PlayerPackage/tpc/fba37bca-79b0-44a9-9c04-e4ffc436489b/topic.html?mode=T

and replaced the %20 with spaces using Notepad.
    upk.erp.ufl.edu/classroom/Payroll Distributions/Publishing Content/PlayerPackage/tpc/fba37bca-79b0-44a9-9c04-e4ffc436489b/topic.html?mode=T

Just copied it and pasted it into a hyperlink. Published to HTML and clicked. myUFL Menu BETA page came up.

Yes, my original link will work. When using Lectura to publish to html, the link no longer works and adds the extra characters.

Incidentally, all the links worked correctly in the previous version of Lectura. This problem has occurred with the upgrade... the actions were not edited. The content was opened in Lectura X.2a, published to HTML without editing the actions.

I took my second link above
    upk.erp.ufl.edu/classroom/Payroll Distributions/Publishing Content/PlayerPackage/tpc/fba37bca-79b0-44a9-9c04-e4ffc436489b/topic.html?mode=T

and put it in a hyperlink in the attached Lectora X.2a title. When published or previewed in browser, it works fine. See attached. No editing of published code required. It also worked with %20. I never saw it change any other characters.

Ok, so I had someone else in my office publish -- they did not have the problem. I continue to... Now I think it's something in my publish settings -- in both HTML and WebCt.
    And the day marches on...

If it makes you feel any better, 2 of us are having the same problem.
