hi all

The only way to import a Java applet into Lectora is through the use of an external HTML object. When you add the external HTML object, select 'Java Applet' from the drop down list for the object type and then select the .class file you want to bring in. You will need to publish out to HTML, AICC or SCORM in order to view this object as Java applets are for a web-based environment.

All Lectora can do is make that Java applet available to the browser in the code and the browser will have to reference a Java plug-in to actually do something with it. What exactly is your .class file supposed to do? Can you run it successfully in any other browser or coded HTML page not created by Lectora?

You have to make sure you bring in all the files required to display the Java applet. There should be a .jar file and maybe a few other files. If you can upload all the files that are required to display the page you included in your last post to http://cds.trivantis.com in a zip file, I can try putting it together for you in a sample title.

It looks like the .class file is missing from the uploaded zip file. Could you upload .class file as well?

Here is what you need to do in Lectora.
1. Add an external HTML object, type Java Applet
2. Browse out and locate the JApplet1.class file
3. Click the Additional Files tab and bring in the remaining four class files and the Inequalities.jar file
4. Size the external HTML object as you would like. In the example you sent, it was 496X438.
5. Publish out to HTML
6. Locate the HTML folder and bring in the three folders that was included in the zip file you sent me, i.e. com, META-INF and symantec, into the root of the HTML folder.
At that point, it should run for you. You will need to drag those three folders over each time you publish out to a new directory. The Java created program requires those additional folders to function properly. There is no way in Lectora to set it to automatically include those folders upon publish as one of those folders is six directories deep. Hopefully, this will work for you.
