Question How to Maximize Lectora Interactive Features?

    Hello,

I'm trying to find out tips and tricks to get the most out of a lesson as far as user interaction. I recently saw a demo with a different software company where the lesson had a video playing (not in a video box) with the person walking from side to side on the page talking to the user and posing questions. As the user answered the questions (by selecting options on the page) the person in the video had immediate responses based on the answers. The user didn't navigate to a new page, rather the video responded immediately to the user. It was very interesting and kept my attention. It's like a decision tree or a "choose your own adventure" for old school readers.

So - does anyone know if Lectora can accomplish these types of interactive pages? Either with video or flash animation? I'd love to hear and also see examples.

    Looking forward to your help!

    Thanks,
    Sara

    Default Interactions

    Sara,

As interactions are a very important part of elearning content, we have worked hard on it.

We have included games, flash animations, video, sounds and snap

I strongly suggest to use that sort of resources as Power Point fashion is a quite boring and worst, uni directional.

If I can help you, please do not hesitate in contacting me.

    Default Interactive Features

    Sara:
Your post was some time ago, and the single response that I saw seemed to be more of an offering of services, than an answer.
I am sure that you have learned the answer to your question by now, but for latecommers to the thread: Yes, you can do that sort of thing in Lectora. I haven't done it since v.9, but I think the processhasn't changed.
First you script all the questions -Duh!
Next shoot the video and edit it down to contain the answers that you need - again Duh!
Third, put markers in the video using a video editing suite like Adobe Premier, or if you have Lectora Inspire, you can open the video with Lectora's video editor, and put the markers in with that tool. Make sure you name the markers with a usable name that you will be able to recognize later. Frankly the Lectora editor is handy but "Klugey" and more like a Playschool tool than a real editor, but it works. I would put in markers and then need to slide it sooner or later and found that to be exasperatingly difficult in the video tool. But if it's all ya got, it's all ya got.
Fourth, Lectora converts the video to a Flash Video format, (pretty sure it's .flv) when you save it. Then when you import it into Lectora as a flash file, you can apply Lectora actions to buttons for example, so that Lectora goes to and plays the desired part of the video. I kind condensed that last part a bit but I think you catch the main idea.
