    Default Quiz linked to video

Hi, I'm trying to work out if this is possible in Lectora. I had someone call me with a requirement to link a quiz to a video, let me explain. The video is say a soccer match and during the clip a foul occurs. They require the viewer to click a button to identify when the foul has taken place. A point is awarded for a right answer.

I had a think about this and they only thing I could think of was trying to relate the correct answer to a defined point within the video i.e. if you know that the foul occurs at 20 secs into the clip then the correct answer would correspond to this timing. Is there another way of achieving this?

    many thanks.

Some time has went by since you posted & I wonder if you came up with an answer. This isn't EXACTLY as the customer requests (since it would require some fancy programming to do that), but what about cutting the video into a several scenes (e.g. 4 shorter scenes) and asking the learner to choose which scene shows the penalty.

Alternatively, provide the entire video with a multiple choice question. Choices would be list of several time slots (inc. the correct time) so they learner can choose which time the penalty occurs. OR even let them type in the time short-answer (of course you'd have to do a lot of answers to account for the range of seconds that could be entered).

    Cheers!

I had something for this at one point in time, but I can't seem to find the documentation. The gist of it was using actions/variables to simulate a timer that would track the duration of the video.

When a Play button is pushed, the video plays and a variable gets modified (add 1) for each second that passes. Then, your Answer Now button would simultaneously pause the video and timer, and also submit an answer to the question (a slight delay may be needed).

The question would then only be answered correctly under the condition that the timer variable either exactly matches the moment of foul or when it is between X and Y seconds. So, if the foul occurred at 20 seconds into the clip, a correct answer would be when the timer variable equals 20 or is between 18 and 22 seconds (depending on how much leeway you want to give users)

Does this make sense? I'll try to find the exact steps I took to simulate this, and if I do I will post them.
