PeopleSoft ELM/LMS
Hello-
This isn't really a question...but, I have been meaning to offer this assistance since they created the section LMS Integration (I was one of the many people that asked for the LMS's to be seperated from the General questions.)
Anyway...I have been using Lectora for a couple of years and we publish to PeopleSoft ELM (LMS) and have run into a lot of bugs; but have worked through most of them...and after my recent post to ASTD where I was asking for assistance, yet received sales offers and scolding as I was just wanting "free" advice I recalled that I never made this post....long story short.
Anyway, if you are needing assistance with Peoplesoft and Lectora please let me know. I am NOT an expert, but I do have some pretty good documentation that I am willing to share (for free - hehe! Well...I hope you would assist someone else when needed!)
Thanks!
Chris

Just as an FYI, I saw a new group for PeopleSoft ELM posted in LinkedIn as well.

Hi Chris and Anyone that can help,
We are currently implementing PeopleSoft ELM 9.1 and have a question for other ELM and Lectora Users.
Question: Does Lectora have a setting when publishing SCORM content that allows us to specify the DOMAIN? For instance, we need all SCORM content to have the domain “UNISOURCE.CORP” can Lectora publish the content with this set?
Thank you,
Karen

Hi Karen - Do you have any updates on defining the domain in Lectora? I am just starting to look at SCORM integrations for our PeopleSoft ELM 9.1 and we are stuck on a similar issue. Thanks!

Documentation with PeopleSoft and Lectora Inspire needed
Chris,
Good Morning!
We are currently on PeopleSoft ELM 9.0 and are planning on purchasing Lectora Inspire. Being a newbie to this software, any assistance with Lectora Inspire would be appreciated especially the documentation part. You can email me any documentation that you might be able to share at kkamath@dot.ga.gov
Thanks,
Kiran Kamath

Peoplesoft ELM 9.1
We are upgrading to PeopleSoft Elm 9.1 and having difficult getting Lectora X courses to launch. We publish to AICC and the course content does not reside on the same server as the LMS, so we do NOT use Java Script Title Manager. Any help would be appreciated as we are running into more Java problems each day. Let me know what additional information you may need.

When using AICC cross domain and the Java Title Manager, you may run into issues depending on the version of the Java plug in you have installed. Java continues to change its security policy which means for certain Java versions and builds, you will need to create a .java.policy file for every user and place it in the users profile on the machine. This grants the signed applet permission to be launched. Due to the changes in Java's policies over the years, this is why we devised the JavaScript Title Manager to rid courses of relying on a third pary plug in to function correctly. Is there a reason you cannot use the JavaScript Title Manager with a cross domain redirector script?

Lectora X and Peoplesoft Elm 9
When publishing an AICC course in Lectora X there is an option which reads "The published course will reside on the same network server as the LMS". We are getting some communication errors and I'm not sure if this checkbox should be checked. Also, my understanding is that the Javascript title manager is the best way to publish the course in order to eliminate issues with Java applet issues on IE, so we are using that option. Here's some more info on our configuration
Current LMS is PeopleSoft version 9.1 and the Lectora X publishing tool
PeopleSoft Load balanced Web servers are psoftweb.bcbs.com
Course content is stored on psoftweb.bcbs.com and somethimes on lectoracontent.bcbs.com
Lectora documentation below, with my questions in parentheses:
The published course will reside on the same network server as the LMS:
Clear this option if you know that the course will be published to a content server that is separate from the AICC system.
(Does content server mean the domain like bsbs.com or is it the actual server name? Is the content server where the crs folder AND all the additional content reside? What does AICC system mean? Is that the web server where PeopleSoft is or the .au files are stored?)
If you are using the*JavaScript Title Manager*(see AICC Options) you will need to specify the*Cross-domain redirector URL*in the field provided.
(We are using the Javascript Title Manager but we currently have the checkbox selected. Do we need to use the crossdomain if all of our servers are in the bcbs.com domain?)
This is typically the location of a script that is used to facilitate the communication between the content server and the AICC system. See*Sample. If you are not using the*JavaScript Title Manager, a signed applet is automatically provided to facilitate the communication between the content server and the AICC system.
Thank you. Any documentation you can share would be appreciated.
