Mobile Templates in Lectora Inspire

mLearning will be continue to be a red-hot trend in 2011. The number of mobile users is staggering. Analysts predict total Smartphone usage in the billions soon and tablet sales will more than double this year. With that sort of momentum, I thought I would take a look at the template resources available for those with New Year’s resolutions to start creating mobile learning courses with Lectora Inspire.
For more tips on creating great courses for mobile devices, read Tanya Seidel’s blog here.
Lectora contains many pre-installed templates, you can access more templates online or you can create your own. They will save you an enormous amount of time if you intend to create multiple...
iPad Growth and Its Impact on eLearning
When Apple released the iPad for the first time in April of 2010, it introduced a new style of computing to the public. It took the tablet computer from a niche specific tool to a mainstream audience who quickly embraced its simplicity and ease-of-use. Subsequent sales of 3 million units in its first 80 days served as confirmation that the iPad had arrived. Now a recent Forbes article has reported that projected sales of the original iPad could reach upwards of 45 million in 2011. With such a large amount of iPads in the hands of learners, the question is raised: how does this impact the future of eLearning? Will we see the iPad be as disruptive as the computer when it was first introduced? These questions can only be answered with time,...

LUC Session: Ask the Experts
This was a very dynamic and fun session, with users and experts interacting in a very relaxed way. We had one of the experts telling a user “If I tell you, I will have to kill you” in regards to a secret enhancement. One user told John Blackmon “Well, you have very nice buttons” as they discussed the button library. Many other interactions caused big laughs.
As in past years, this “Ask the Experts” session had three main points:
1. Users requested about 20 new features.
2. Users helped each other solving problems.
3. Users reported about hand full of errors with the application.
Given that 90 percent of Lectora X enhancements came from past “Ask the Experts” sessions, I'd say this is a very important session in the user’s conference.
